Birth Control

Intrauterine Device (IUD)

Considered one of the most effective methods of birth control, the IUD is a “T” shaped device that is placed inside the uterus. There are 3 kinds of IUDs available that can last up to 3, 5, or 10 years!

The Paragard, also known as the “copper T,” is a hormone free method that uses copper to stop the sperm from moving towards the egg inside the body. Mirena and Skyla are both hormonal IUDs that use a small amount of hormones to thicken the fluid in the cervix, making it almost impossible for sperm to swim past and into the fallopian tubes.
