Family Tree Clinic is seeking submissions for our June 2018 PRIDE Everywhere! gallery show. As a part of Pride month celebrations, we will dedicate our walls to multi-disciplinary LGBTQIA artists. The showcase will last the entirety of the month of June with an opening and reception June 7, 6:00pm-9:00pm. What empowers, heals, and inspires LGBTQIA community? What makes you laugh, smile, or feel peace? Good vibes encouraged to submit!
WHY IS A CLINIC DOING AN ART SHOW?
Art engages, art crosses boundaries, art communicates, and art heals. We invite all of these qualities along with community into our clinic to share space and demystify health care.
Artists will represent LGBTQIA community through their identity as submitting artist, and/or their imagery. Submissions can include (and are not limited to) drawings, paintings, mixed-media, poetry, photography, or zines.
Submissions should be a maximum of 7 pounds, wire-ready for hanging or able to fix to a wall using damage-free hanging strips. Submitted work must be created by the submitting artist.
People of varying ages and experiences visit Family Tree for their health care, please consider this when submitting. With our patient/visitors experiences in mind, we may not accept a piece if it has the potential to be triggering or offensive.
Artists will be available for a portion of the set-up and teardown of the show. This will be schedule after acceptance into the show. Artists are also asked to attend the show opening.
