LGBTQ Health Access Initiative

Everyone deserves access to health care.

It’s public knowledge that there are major health disparities among lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans individuals. Due to factors like low rates of health insurance coverage, high rates of stress due to harassment and discrimination, and a lack of cultural competency in the health care system, LGBTQ people are at a higher risk for cancer, mental illnesses, and other diseases, and are more likely to smoke, drink alcohol, use drugs, and engage in other risky behaviors.

We don’t like that. Not one bit. So we commit to change it by providing services that meet the needs of the LGBTQ communities.

We are committed to improving the health of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer individuals through affordable, respectful sexual health care and education. Working cooperatively with other community-based organizations, we continue to build our capacity to serve LGBTQ communities through our outreach, education, and clinic services.
