Since our founding, Family Tree has relied heavily on the contributions of volunteers. As a matter of fact the founding members of Family Tree were ALL volunteers! Today, volunteers continue to be highly valued and are an integral part of our clinic. We offer a few different volunteer positions to fit individual needs. We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Volunteer Clinic Assistants are responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within the clinic. Volunteer Clinic Assitants help with making new charts, putting together safer sex kits, assist with bulk mailings and other various tasks. This position is flexible and great for people who would like to volunteer with a friend. Volunteer Clinic Assistants are asked to volunteer once a month. Afternoon and evening shifts are available.
Volunteer Patient Educators talk with patients about birth control methods and use, sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS, emergency contraception, and offer pregnancy options counseling. They provide information and resources, answer patients’ questions, and make them feel more comfortable in the clinic. When not with patients, volunteer educators help with small administrative tasks around the clinic. Volunteers Patient Educators are asked to commit to one 3-hour shift per week, either in the morning, afternoon or evening, for at least 1 year and are required to attend training sessions before volunteering.
